‘The Camano Kid’ gets national attention

It seems a local fugitive from justice has hit the mainstream media with a big splash.

Colton Harris-Moore, the 18-year-old Camano Island miscreant who’s a suspect in numerous thefts — from the trivial to the spectacular — was profiled on ABC’s “Nightline” on Tuesday night and in the current issue of Time magazine.

Time called him “America’s Most Wanted Teenage Bandit” and, admirably, touches on the real meat of the story — that while some see in him a common thug, others view him as a folk hero.
